We will discuss things such as: special Fx makeup, monster creation, film making, writing, originality, and many other aspects that make horror movies memorable. This panel would include independent film and mainstream Hollywood movies to touch on multiple audiences, experiences, and what makes horror special both now and in the past. We would also like to have audience participation, by having them bring their own personal opinions to the panel.

In this 90-minute workshop, Special Makeup Effects artists Michael and Lynne Burnett will show you how to make life-like eyes for a fraction of what you can purchase them for. Class fee includes all materials and instruction to make two pairs (4 total) of life-like prop eyes. This is a great adult and parent/child activity. For most prosthetic makeup the first step is creating a lifecast to work from. In this 90-minute workshop, Special Makeup Effects artists Michael and Lynne Burnett will teach you hands on, step by step in the process of taking a silicone facial lifecast and how to cast a urethane plastic positive from the mold. You will learn to work with: Silicone lifecasting material, plaster bandages, urethane plastic and ridged urethane foam. At the end of the class you will have a silicone mold of your face and a urethane resin casting to take with you. Students must be at least 10 years old. Improv 4 Kids teaches workshops for young creative minds nationwide. Kids can come to this workshop and learn how to make up and develop fun characters and stories on the spot!
This mandatory Pre-Judging Session is for entrants who have handmade their costumes and wish to compete in the Craftsmanship Category of the Costume Contest. Entrants in the Exhibition Category do not need to attend this session. You will have up to three minutes to describe how your costume was made in addition to showing the judges reference pictures and progress pictures of your costume.
